The title of this blog is a quote from George Carlin but it is true for many of us. I have had many different kinds of dogs over the course of my life: Samoyed, Corgi, Labrador Retriever, Dalmation, and Shih Tzus. They have all brought great joy!
My Samoyed, Thor was a wonderful dog. Sammys are a lot of work and are something else to handle but are just terrific. Thor's funniest stunt was to let someone come on into the yard and even the house, but when that someone wanted to leave it was an entirely different story. He would not let them back out of the door unless I told him it was okay!
I guess my all time favorite is Labrador Retriever. I have had six of them. They are just wonderful dogs. I don't think there is a better breed.
Currently, I have two Shih Tzus who are as spoiled as any two dogs I've every known. Talk about a couple of Divas!
In short, I would not have had it any other way and will probably have dogs for the rest of my life.
